These stunning paper flower decorations are the perfect craft project for Independence Day. Read on to find out how to make them yourself!

Supplies

Uploading the templates to Cricut Design Space

  • Log into Design SPace and click the ‘Create New Project’ button
  • Click the ‘Upload’ button, then click the ‘Upload Image’ button
  • Click the ‘Browse’ button and locate the SVG files for this project

The files will be uploaded to Design Space and will appear in the Uploaded Images gallery. From there you can access them and work on them.

Assembling the Pieces

1. Fan

Fold the six rectangular pieces following the score lines, how it is presented in the image.

Use double-sided adhesive to connect the pieces together.

Connect the two blue sections together and then alternate between the red and white pieces.

When all the pieces are connected, squeeze them together.

Keep one of the sides pressed together to maintain a circular while you form the fan with the other side of the creased piece, making sure to form it in a circular fashion.

Connect the two pieces so that the fan takes its circular shape and remains closed.

Adjust the spacing between the creases so the different sections of the fan are evenly distributed.

Apply hot glue around the central open space in the middle and attach the blue circular piece.

Then attach the white circle, then the red circle on top of the white circle.

Turn the fan over and do the same on the other side, applying glue and attaching the three circular pieces in the same order as the previous side.

2. Big Flower

With the help of a shaping stick, create a slight curve on one of the sides of the flower petals. Repeat this for all the petals, making sure to only make this curve on the same side of all of the petals.

Grab the bigger red and white flower sections and put the red piece under the white piece (not glueing it yet!). Arrange the pieces so that the petals are overlapping, creating something resembling a propeller.

When the petals are placed to your liking, lift the center portion slightly, apply glue, and attach both pieces.

Repeat the same process with the bigger blue petals. Glue the blue petals on top of the red and white petals.

Grab the smaller section of white and red petals and repeat the same process of arranging and attaching the petal layers to each other, but this time with the white layer attached below the red one.

When all these pieces are connected, lightly press the petals towards each other to give them some volume.

Apply glue to the central part of the bigger flower and attach the two parts of the flower in the center.

Grab the white piece that will make up the center portion of the flower. Curve this piece very lightly in half, towards the middle, without creasing it. Apply glue to one of the sides and close the piece, connecting both sides.

Using a quilling tool, begin to roll the white central piece, starting by its narrowest end. When you have completed the rolling, apply glue to close the piece.

Apply glue to the base of this piece and attach it to the central part of the flower.

Glue the stars to the blue petals.

Make the veins of the leaf using a scoring tool or any similar tool. With the help of a little stick, fold the leaf towards the middle.

Fold slightly along the lines of the veins. Use a stick to curve the edges slightly.

Glue the flower and leaf together.

3. Rolled flower

Glue the three parts of the flower together as shown in the images, first the white part, then the blue, and lastly, the red part.

Connect the portion of the white piece that does not contain stars to your quilling tool and begin to roll.

When you reach the end, loosen slightly so they open and take on a more natural form.

Use the end of a stick, or any other similar shaped tool, to open up the center of the flower slightly. Rearrange the flower with your fingers in case it unrolled a bit.

Apply hot glue on the bottom and connect it to the round base.

Open the petals and with the help of a stick, round the edges a bit.

Evenly distribute the petals. If big gaps remain between the petals, use glue to force the petals to remain together so that they close the gaps.

Grab the leaves and fold them towards the center. Connect the leaves to the flower.

You can decorate the middle with an adhesive gem if you’d like.
